Ruddy Turnstone – Getting cold feet

  • Post last modified:May 26, 2020

Autumn is getting closer and many birds get ready to migrate. Wading birds are a common sight these days, and I was lucky to catch a few of them on “film” a few days ago not far from Stavanger.

The Ruddy Turnstone (Arenaria interpres) is a small wading bird. It is a highly migratory bird breeding in northern parts of Eurasia and North America and flying south to winter on coastlines almost worldwide

Photographing water birds can be a wet experience, and I think my feet was as wet as these Turnstones. Just look at the expression on the right one when a heavy drop of water hits his beak!
